I began my career as an engineer in 1992, designing embedded microprocessor-based control systems. Since then I have worked at three commercial startup companies, a large defense contractor, and an international development firm focused on bringing affordable government service improvement projects to developing countries. I launched TMS to apply systems engineering principles and real-world experience to small business growth challenges.
I implemented my first small business accounting system during summer break after my junior year of college. Since then I have worked as a federal contractor and consultant supporting major acquisitions, IT sustainment programs, software development projects, and many, many proposals. During the last 15 years much of my time has been spent working with Earned Value Management Systems, serving as the Corporate EVM lead for a major defense contractor and co-authoring the PMI Practice Standard for Earned Value Management (Second Edition). I love helping people find better ways to accomplish the mission.
